BODA-BODA

Boda-boda is the most affordable and traditional way to get around the island. Local drivers ride their motorcycle and stop along the roadside, calling out "boda-boda". The price is negotiated on the spot, and you simply tell the driver your destination.

These rides offer an authentic experience of Zanzibar's local culture and provided a quick and flexible way to move thorugh towns and village while enjoying the scenery along the way.

TUK-TUK

Tuk-tuks are also one of the most traditional and affordable ways to get around the island. Like boda-bodas, they stop along the road, ready to pick up passengers. in a tuk-tuk, you can share the ride with locals or even other tourists, making it a very budget-friendly option.

These three-wheeled vehicles offer a relaxed pace, allowing you to take sights, sounds, and atmosphere of Zanzibar's streets. They are ideal for short distance and provide a lively, community-oriented travel experience as you join both local and travelers on your journey.

This is one of the pricier options, but also the fastest way to travel around the island. Taking a taxi is recommended when you need to transport luggage from the airport to your hotel and vice versa. Taxi are usually large vans with space for up to seven passengers, offering comfort and convenience for those carrying more belongings or traveling in groups.

With taxi, you get door to door service, which is especially helpful if you're traveling with family or have a lot of bags. They also provide a more private and air-conditioned option, ideal for those seeking a smooth and comfortable journey across Zanzibar.

BOATS

This is the least common and most expensive option for traveling around the island. It's not generally recommended, as you would still need to take a car to reach the island's inland areas. Some boats offers breakfast and meals onboard, making the journey a bit more enjoyable.

If you do want to take a boat, it's best to choose an excursion near the coast, such as snorkeling or island-hopping tours. These trips provided a unique view of Zanzibar from the water, allowing you to explore the stunning coastal areas and nearby islands in a more relaxed and scenic way.
